Oxfordshire Grants

Sustainability Grant

This grant is open to any Oxfordshire unit that requires financial support as a result of the COVID Pandemic or cost of living crisis. Units can apply for help with subscriptions, rent, resources, recruitment or for hardship funding.

Opportunities Grant

Grants are awarded to individual girls, and adult members providing opportunities for girls, to enable them to take part in a Guiding event or activity out of the meeting place which otherwise would have been prohibitive due to cost.

Applications should be made by the nominating unit leader on behalf of the individual and should be countersigned by the District Commissioner, or the Division Commissioner if the leader making the application is the District Commissioner.

Applications can be made on behalf of an individual for one event in each calendar year.

Grants will be considered for up to 50% of the cost but no more than £200.

Following the event or activity, the recipient or nominating leader, if the recipient is unaware of the application being made on their behalf, will be required to provide a short report of the event or activity.

Applications cannot be made for events or activities that the County supports through other funding arrangements such as members attending region International events.

The application should be made in plenty of time, at least 6 weeks before the event, except in exceptional circumstances.

International Grant

The Oxfordshire International grant is to help those members of Girlguiding Oxfordshire selected to take part in Guiding International trips outside of the UK.

Girls can apply for this grant a maximum of two times for different international trips. Leaders can apply twice every five years and then reviewed for special circumstances, applications are for providing opportunities for the girls.

Those applying for this grant are not eligible to apply for any other Girlguiding Oxfordshire grant towards their trip. Applications should be made to the County Commissioner.

Members Training Grants

The County will fund the cost of attendance at a training to gain the experience or a nationally recognised qualification to enable the participant to provide opportunities for girls within the County.

The applicant will be required to provide at least 3 opportunities for girls within the County each year for the length of the qualification.

Please discuss your interest with either the County Outdoor Adviser or Adventure coordinator if you would like to undertake training or gain a qualification.
